* Build, manage and lead a team of Web Analysts to develop advanced
analytical solutions and to formulate insights across Scholastic's
internet properties; ensure tracking, reporting and analytics are
*Develop best practices approach for analyzing user behavior on our
web site(s) including gathering and analyzing data to identify key
performance indicators, understand online traffic patterns, segment
customer behaviors and prioritize site issues resulting in improved
web site performance.
*Present detailed analysis on specific problem areas or for
quantifying trouble spots across web sites.
*Work closely with online marketing and development teams to define
data requirements and key performance indicators; manage ongoing
collaboration to identify opportunities to optimize results around
usage, page yield and relevance statistical analyses and to ensure
actionable learning is transferred
* Develop and evolve monthly Web Traffic Reports
*Manage the web analytics platform in order to analyze web site
performance and trends across multiple properties.
*Make recommendations based on detailed quantitative analysis and ad
hoc reporting to key decision makers in understanding site usage and
*Educate the company regarding web metrics - ranging from terminology
standardization to the impact of user behavior on key performance
indicators (i.e., conversion and revenue factors) – and develop
internal talent for web analytics.
*Execute analytical projects and at times lead project development
efforts for statistical models, data analysis, and decision support
*B.S. degree in computer science, statistics, information systems or
*5-7 years of experience in data analysis/statistical modeling with
at least 5 years in hands-on website analysis.
*Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team

*Expert analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, understand
and interpret data from both internal and client perspectives; proven
track record for leading and executing complex analytical projects.
* Experience with syndicated marketing research tools preferred
(MediaMetrix, NetRatings, etc.)
* Solid presentation skills with proven ability to communicate ideas
and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing to both
a technical and non-technical audience.
*Strong problem solving and decision making skills
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
