Tribune Interactive (TI), a division of Tribune Company, is a national
leader in interactive marketing. TI reaches about 15 million
consumers each month, and serves many of the nation's leading
advertisers through the websites of major daily newspapers such as the
Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and Newsday, and via relationships
with strategic partners such as CareerBuilder, Cars.com and ShopLocal.

Role:
TI's Strategic Marketing group is currently recruiting for a Consumer
Insight Analyst to provide analysis of TI and competitive websites to
support revenue generation, programming and product development across
a broad base of internal customers.

Responsibilities:
o Analyze metrics information to uncover consumer insights that will
drive more loyalty to our sites and bring new frequent visitors

o Assist the news rooms with analysis of what content resonates with
readers

o Manage the timely release of accurate and insightful monthly and
quarterly reports and analyses from syndicated data sources, TI's
internal analytics system and other relevant interactive marketing
research sources

o Build and maintain relationships with select metrics vendors

o Develop new and ad hoc analyses to monitor strategically important
trends and product categories

o Provide metrics support for corporate strategic planning activities
and editorial coverage (e.g. elections, Olympics), etc.

o Provide metrics support for local market, TI corporate departments,
and national sales teams

o Train TI employees in the use of metrics tools

o Work with Search Engine Optimization experts to provide data and
insights to support the development of SEO strategies

o Manage metrics information site on corporate intranet

o Ensure ongoing quality assurance of internal Web analytics system
and provide business requirements to technology for web analytics
implementation

Requirements:
Only applicants who fulfill the following specific requirements will
be considered:

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, social sciences or
other relevant subject, with coursework/internships in statistics
and/or quantitative research techniques

- One or more years experience in marketing or consulting, ideally
within the interactive marketing industry

- Razor-sharp analytical skills: ability to gather, analyze,
summarize and present market data to objectively support business
recommendations and plans

- Knowledge of and passion for interactive media and marketing
landscape, including emerging technologies and trends such as mobile
and consumer generated media

- Interest in journalism and working for an interactive publishing
company

- A creative, self-starter who can prioritize and work autonomously

- Attention to detail, accuracy and follow through

- Superior organizational as well as oral and written communication
skills

- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; proficient in DreamWeaver
(HTML editor) ideal

- Experience with syndicated research systems is preferred,
specifically Nielsen//NetRatings and comScore Media Metrix

- Experience with web analytics systems such as Omniture is preferred
but not necessary
