Manager of Marketing Analytics Position- Entertainment/Media Company

Title: Manager Marketing Analytics
Location: New York City

The Manager of Marketing Analytics will be responsible for collecting the
data, developing the analysis, and providing continual reporting to support
various marketing, retention, and customer care initiatives. The role will
also be involved in developing forecasting models used for revenue and
expense planning.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with marketing teams to understand key drivers and proposed
impact of various marketing programs
• Create data sets used to track program results and effectiveness
• Work with Business Intelligence and vendors to collect necessary data for
analysis
• Validate the integrity of data provided, report anomalies, and identify
program risks
• Assist management in interpreting vendor reports and program results
• Design analysis to highlight key areas of risks/opportunities in each
program
• Validate program results and ensure correct implementation of programs
• Work with finance to develop profitability analysis, NPV, and break-even
rates of programs
• Design reporting to keep various levels of management informed of results
• Develop process controls/thresholds to ensure programs continue to operate
as planned and within acceptable limits of profitability
• Work with Business Intelligence to develop automated reporting once
programs are incubated and working properly
• Responsible for ad hoc analysis and special projects as necessary

Job Requirements:
• 5-7 years experience in Marketing Analytics
• Excellent Analytical skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and present data
in a clear and concise manner
• Must be able to understand and communicate the business impact of various
results
• Strong data handling and mining skills
• Strong database reporting and development skills
• Advanced Excel and Access skills
• SQL, Cognos, Hyperion Essbase skills a plus

Scholastic is seeking a motivated Assoc Director, Web Analytics in NYC HQ

Responsibilities:

* Build, manage and lead a team of Web Analysts to develop advanced
analytical solutions and to formulate insights across Scholastic's
internet properties; ensure tracking, reporting and analytics are
functioning optimally
*Develop best practices approach for analyzing user behavior on our
web site(s) including gathering and analyzing data to identify key
performance indicators, understand online traffic patterns, segment
customer behaviors and prioritize site issues resulting in improved
web site performance.
*Present detailed analysis on specific problem areas or for
quantifying trouble spots across web sites.
*Work closely with online marketing and development teams to define
data requirements and key performance indicators; manage ongoing
collaboration to identify opportunities to optimize results around
usage, page yield and relevance statistical analyses and to ensure
actionable learning is transferred
* Develop and evolve monthly Web Traffic Reports
*Manage the web analytics platform in order to analyze web site
performance and trends across multiple properties.
*Make recommendations based on detailed quantitative analysis and ad
hoc reporting to key decision makers in understanding site usage and
customer behaviors.
*Educate the company regarding web metrics - ranging from terminology
standardization to the impact of user behavior on key performance
indicators (i.e., conversion and revenue factors) – and develop
internal talent for web analytics.
*Execute analytical projects and at times lead project development
efforts for statistical models, data analysis, and decision support
tools.

Required Experience:
Requirements:

*B.S. degree in computer science, statistics, information systems or
mathematics.
*5-7 years of experience in data analysis/statistical modeling with
at least 5 years in hands-on website analysis.
*Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team

This Job Requires the Following Skills:
*Proven leadership skills and the ability to develop a team
*Excellent business analysis skills with proven ability to utilize
information for actionable decisions to achieve business results.
*Understanding of web languages and technology (HTML, Javascript,
Cookies, XML)
*Experience with web analytics tools (Omniture, WebTrends, Visual
Sciences, etc.).
*Experience with Business Intelligence tools (COGNOS, Hyperion) and
experience accessing and querying databases.
*Knowledge of database technologies (SQL) & tools (DB2/Oracle).
*Expert analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, understand
and interpret data from both internal and client perspectives; proven
track record for leading and executing complex analytical projects.
* Experience with syndicated marketing research tools preferred
(MediaMetrix, NetRatings, etc.)
* Solid presentation skills with proven ability to communicate ideas
and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing to both
a technical and non-technical audience.
*Strong problem solving and decision making skills
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education Required:
BS required, Masters preferred
