Manager, Business Analytics, Cheapflights.com (Boston, Massachusetts)

Founded in England in 1996, Cheapflights is the original pay-per-click travel search company, now operating offices in London and Boston. Over the past 4 years, Cheapflights has developed a strong base in the US, and is poised for continued dramatic growth (100% + annually across many business metrics). A leader in the competitive US travel search space, Cheapflights also publishes a weekly newsletter, delivered to a subscriber base of over 3MM opt-in users.

The Business Analytics Manager leverages multiple online reporting systems to drive initiatives to improve business growth and profitability.

The role will encompass analysis and tracking of newsletter and web based customer acquisition efforts, direct support for executive business intelligence and decision making, partner and channel performance measurement, and ROI analysis on business and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record using analytics programs that have been successfully used to inform and guide marketing and business planning efforts.

Reports to: GM, USA

• Define and manage a best in class research and analytics function that is responsible for analyzing key performance metrics and communicating these to partners and internal management, as appropriate
• Taking responsibility for bringing to attention of senior management initiatives and KPIs that can help improve overall business performance such as
o sub goal profit margin
o sub revenue goals areas
o revenue maximization reports
o identifying top performers
o revenue budget variances
o recommending best practice
o improvement/decline in site conversion
• Driving revenue and marketing planning, inclusive of budget models
• Drive website and online marketing measurement engagements with partners
• Expand and fully leverage in-house WebTrends and Lyris analytics capabilities
• Provide management team with well thought out and meaningful business guidance based on internal and third party analytical resources
• Conduct ongoing campaign performance measurement analysis, including identifying, defining, collecting and tracking key business metrics for new and existing campaigns
• Participating with, and guiding, executive management in the utilization of analytics
• Participating in new business development and partnership opportunities
• Develop and maintain working relationships across the company, to facilitate a world-class analytics and performance measurement methodology and culture
• Develop and implement Business Intelligence/Dashboard database and reporting system combining information from multiple sources including WebTrends & Lyris.

Preferred background:

• Experience with predictive modeling and segmentation – Essential
• Online Marketing or Product analytics experience -- Essential
• Confident and productive in a cross-functional organization – Essential


• Expert in Microsoft Excel advanced applications -- Essential
• Experience with SQL databases & queries – Essential
